Recent Updates

I quit RareJob lessons at the end of August, 2016. It was my 3rd anniversary of taking lessons. I thought it was enough because I am getting older and I don't expect any job opportunity with English related. We don't have any foreign neigbors in the countryside.

I have already uploaded many pictures up to now. I feel it takes me quite a lot of time to upload another pictures, so I started writing another diary.

My new blog address is

Apr. 16 - Hyogo Flower Park

My husband and I visited Hyogo Flower park yesterday and took many pictures there.

Tulip is the national flower of Holland, whose symbol is the windmill.
Surrounded by tulips, this windmill was built as the symbol of Hyogo Flower Park.

My husband and I watched a local TV news program on April 15th.

We were particularly interested in one of their reports from Hyogo Flower Park.

The reporter visited the park and interviewed one of the visitors in front of the fragrant tulips exhibit.  The interviewee said, "Oh, yes!  I can smell the fragrance of the tulips!  It's nice!"

Then, I asked my husband, who majored in agriculture from the prestigious national university in Kobe and used to teach science for 35 years in high school, if he has ever smelled the tulips.  I have seen tulips for many times, but they didn't have any fragrance.

He said no, but he showed his great interest in visiting the park to take pictures of flowers.

My husband and I didn't talk very much during the program because we were curious about what they were saying.

After the program, my husband suggested that we visit the park the next day, Saturday, April 16 because we would expect a rainy Sunday on the 17th.

I told him that many locals watched the same program as we did, so they would expect many visitors this weekend.   I suggested that we visit the park one one of the weekdays next week.

However, it seemed that he could not wait any longer, so we visited the park yesterday, the 16th.

Please edit my sentences below.  Thank you!

My husband who was diagnosed with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)  because he used to smoke more than two packs of cigarettes per day for 40 years.  Now, his lungs can only work half of their power.

Wikipedia says that "COPD is a type of obstructive lung disease characterized by long term poor airflow.  The main symptoms include shortness of breath and cough with sputum production.  COPD typically worsens over time.  Eventually walking up stairs or carrying things will be difficult."

I walked for about 15 minutes from the parking lot to the park.  I carried his packed lunch and his 500ml PET bottle.  In addition to that, I also brought fish food because he wanted to feed the fish in the pond.

We arrived at the park around noon.  I was getting hungry so when I entered the park, the first thing I did was to look for a table and chairs.  I didn't know where my husband went.  He was already gone from my side and went to some area to take pictures.   So, I started eating the packed lunch alone.

I actually found the tulips which I saw on the TV.
I could smell the tulips!

The board says "These are the fragrance tulips."

I took the next six pictures in the green house.

This flower is named Saint Paulia, which is my most favorite flower.

The flower park officials are now offering a rent service of the traditional Holland costumes for visitors.  The rental is free of charge and it is held from April 2 to 30th.
